Like the TV

Once upon a time, when Mouth was little
he wanted to be with his TV all the time
and was frightened the TV would go away

later, when Mouth was a little bigger,
Mouth wanted to be away from his TV
and was frightened that
the TV wanted him to be watching it all the time

when Mouth grew up he fell in love with Tongue
and Mouth wanted to be with Tongue all the time
and was frightened Tongue would go away

when Mouth was a little older,
Mouth did not want to be with Tongue all the time
Mouth was frightened
that Tongue wanted to with him all the time, and
the Tongue was frightened
that Mouth did not want to be with Tongue all the time

Mouth frightens Tongue he will leave her
because Mouth is frightened Tongue will leave him

Mouth is afraid Tongue is like his TV
Tongue is afraid Mouth is like her TV

Mouth is afraid
Tongue thinks Mouth is like her TV
and that Tongue is afraid
Mouth thinks Tongue is like his TV

Tongue is afraid
Mouth thinks she is like his TV
and that Mouth is afraid
Tongue thinks he is like her TV

They are afraid to watch TV together
because they both think
watching TV together
confuses what each other likes about TV

They at times like
the same thing on TV
but they like the same thing on TV
in their own ways
ways that both frighten them from talking
in ways that both of them neither talk about because
neither one of them knows
how the other one
likes the same thing on TV

If Mouth talks about TV
Mouth talks about TV from what he knows about it
when Tongue talks about TV
Tongue talks from what she knows about it

though they watch TV at the same time
they watch it from what they know about it and
they don’t know they don’t know that they don’t they know they are
frightened about this
