pondering earth’s wobble

I’m sitting inside a bathtub
and I can hear
the walls of

these rock-shadows
sink their
teeth into my
vampire-neck

and I wonder what’s
the worth
of all these siblings

perhaps to cuddle their
smoke
proving nothing other than
the other of their own selves

as something
touch affords
my hands turning the water off

  1. i have taken my
    guitar into the
    bathtub with
    me once or
    twice, it’s
    true – sometimes
    to cuddle, but
    mostly,
    to get a call-
    and-response
    going, so
    fervently,
    i can see the
    tiled walls
    bearing their
    shiny teeth

    1. with each bite
      they exhale
      one long sigh of
      relief
      as they know
      as we do too,
      paint made of
      sound are their
      dream’s return
      mirror of
      desire held
      back by what
      could not have
      otherwise
      occurred–
      guitar in
      the bathtub
